‘Dancing with the Stars’ gets syndication deal on GSN

LOS ANGELES – The Game Show Network (GSN) has acquired the rights to air past seasons of “Dancing with the Stars,” it was announced Tuesday.

Fans can begin reliving their favorite moments from seasons four to 13 of the hit ABC dance competition starting January 2012.

The syndication agreement between the cable network and the Disney-owned TV channel also includes season 14, which will debut next spring.

Tuesday night marks the conclusion of season 13 of the show — when either talk show host Ricki Lake, former “All My Children” soap star J.R. Martinez or reality star Rob Kardashian will take home the mirrorball trophy prize.

“Many of the most popular shows on television today — including ‘Dancing with the Stars’ — are essentially game shows at their core,” Amy Introcaso-Davis, EVP of Programming for GSN, said in a statement.

“GSN is all about the potent combination of games, competition, entertainment and fun, and we know that ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is a show our female audience already loves,” she added.
