The body of a 31-year-old man was found in the water near Battery Park City.
A 911 caller reported the grisly discovery around 9:20 a.m. and the NYPD Harbor Unit took the victim to the North Cove Marina, where EMS workers pronounced him dead at the scene.
The medical examiner has not determined a cause of death and the investigation is continuing.
