Cops share foster files

The NYPD will begin handing over files this week from its probe into the disappearance two years ago of a boy placed by the city in foster care.

They’ll be used by an investigator hired by court-appointed lawyers who represent the interests of the missing child, Patrick Alford, in a new effort to determine the 9-year-old’s whereabouts, court records say.

The city had argued that the files contain sensitive information and could reveal closely held investigative techniques. But a “strict confidentiality” order sanctioned by a federal judge is intended to prevent any public disclosures.
