Howard Stern will replace Piers Morgan as a judge on “America’s Got Talent,” the shock jock confirmed Thursday.
The NBC talent show will be moved to New York, and Stern is expected to begin taping the series in February, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“I take judging very seriously,” Stern told his radio show listeners, adding, “In order to up my credibility, I will wear a suit.”
Page Six first reported that Stern, 57, wanted the show moved to New York so he could continue his program on Sirius XM radio. It also reported last month that he wanted $20 million to become a judge.
At the time, “America’s Got Talent” sources claimed the request to move the show went too far, as it would be unsettling for the other judges — Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel — and the show’s crew.
“Moving it to New York would mean over 100 people losing their jobs if they don’t move with the show — and inconvenience for Howie and Sharon, who wants to spend more time with her husband, Ozzy,” a source told The Post.
Morgan announced in November that he was leaving after six years to focus on his “Piers Morgan Tonight” program on CNN.
Meanwhile, the Parents Television Council already has questioned whether the controversial entertainer should be part of a show watched by families.
A representative for NBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
