5 questions for … Shannon Sharpe

CBS pregame analyst and Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe talked Jets, Giants and Tebow with The Post’s Justin Terranova.

How dangerous a game is this Eagles’ game for the Jets?

Very. They have Michael Vick back healthy and the one thing they can do is really get after your quarterback. The Jets are going to try ground-and-pound with Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson. And that’s their best option to give Mark Sanchez a situation where he won’t have to throw the ball 30 times a game. The Eagles knocked Matt Moore out in the win over the Dolphins, and Mark Brunell hasn’t played in a very long time. I think the Jets are just fine with it staying that way.

Are the Jets capable of another AFC Championship run, or advance even beyond that?

Sure, but the defense has to play like they did during those runs the past two years. That’s their bread and butter. They have to stop the opposing team because once you get to the playoffs there are no Kansas Citys, there are no Buffalos and there are no Washingtons. They’ll be going against the Steelers, Ravens and these are the teams that the Jets have struggled with this season.

The Giants lost to the Redskins in the season opener this year. Can you see it happening again?

It’s a division game, it’s a rivalry game. These teams know each other inside-and-out. These guys really get up for each other. And I’ve been on teams that aren’t going anywhere, and hey, misery loves company.

Is Eli Manning playing well enough to make the Giants a Super Bowl contender?

Not with the defense playing the way it is. We’ve seen Tom Brady, whose been elite for a very long time, not be able to overcome that. We’ve seen the Patriots lately have success in the regular season, but not in the playoffs. Now we saw how the Giants defense did when they played in New Orleans. You can’t have a wasted possession. The defense has shown they can’t really stop anybody.

You played in Denver, do you think Tim Tebow can keep this up?

I’m treating this like I’m dating a Victoria’s Secret model. I’m not worried about if we’ll be together three years from now, I’m enjoying this right now.

Why should John Elway come out and say this is our guy? John Skelton has won four of five for the Cardinals, so I guess they should commit to him? No, let it play out. This isn’t Aaron Rodgers. He’s winning, but there’s limitations on what he can do.
