Jets’ AFC playoff picture

With two games left, the Jets almost certainly control their own destiny in the hunt for the final wild-card spot. If they win twice and finish tied with the Bengals (if Cincinnati wins twice), the tie will be broken based on strength of victories. The Jets hold a significant edge in that category, though it is subject to change.

Scenarios

If they finish 10-6: The Jets’ only competition would be the Bengals, who at 8-6 can still finish with the same record. Cincinnati finishes with the Cardinals (7-7) and Ravens (10-4).

If they finish 9-7: Cincinnati finishing 2-0 would eliminate Gang Green. At 9-7, a tie-breaker is possible with as many as four other teams (Bengals, Broncos, Titans, Raiders or Chargers). The Jets would have the head-to-head tie-breaker over the Chargers, but not the Raiders or AFC West-leading Broncos (8-6).

If they finish 8-8: The Jets can still make it with two losses, but they would need a ton of help.
