Jets fans crushed, Giants fans ecstatic

Gang green fans were as crushed off the field today as their team was on it.

“I’m totally disapponted in this game,” moaned Jets devotee Mark Gerbowsky, 36, as he headed for the exit with just over 2 minutes left in the game and the Jets trailing 20-14. “The way [Mark] Sanchez was throwing, he was horrible, Mark was very disappointing.”

Seconds later, the Jets QB was pushed into the end zone by Giant Chris Canty’s and took a safety pushing the score to 22-14. “Typical Sanchez,” said Gerbowsky spat, disgusted by the play. “He’s timid and scared. You’d think after a couple of years he would have learned by now.”

At the Bronx Ale House in Kingsbridge, Giants fans erupted screaming “It’s over! Games over!” Boosters of Big Blue were actually gleeful, for most of the game as the Jets trailed for more than three quarters.

“It’s over,” Mark Callihan, 28, of Larchmont, NY, said confidently at the stadium in the fourth quarter, just seconds before Jet QB Mark Sanchez’s 1-yard TD run moved the Jets to within 20-14 with 7:17 left in the game.

“It’s still over,” he said after the Jets scored, “trust me.”

As the clock wound down fans at the Bronx Ale House went crazy on nearly every play.

“J E T S …JETS JETS JETS” roared a contingent of green-clad Gang Green boosters. They were answered by Giants fans who competed to drown out the chant with: “SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!”
