CLEVELAND — An Ohio woman was being held on $10,000 bond Saturday after reportedly confessing to police she threw her daughter’s body out with the trash.
India Parker, 35, is facing a charge of abuse of a corpse, WOIO-TV reported.
Kaliyah was reported missing Monday by the father of one of Parker’s other children, according to WKYC-TV.
Friends and relatives told police investigating the disappearance they had not seen her since 2006 when she was five years old, and that Parker made excuses to explain her absence.
Parker reportedly told some people that Kaliyah had been killed by a falling bookcase, but police were unable to find any record of her death.
She was charged with abuse of a corpse and ordered held on $10,000 bond Saturday.
Sources told WOIO that Parker had previously had at least one child taken away from her by social workers and subsequently returned to her.
