Miss Minoes

It has taken “Miss Minoes,’’ a Dutch children’s movie, a decade to get a theatrical run in New York. Now, just in time for the holidays, it has arrived, dubbed into English.

A slight movie, it concerns Minoes, a cat who’s transformed into a young woman after an encounter with a truckload of toxic chemicals. Now walking around on two legs but still able to race to the top of trees when she sees a dog, Minoes befriends a newspaper reporter. He provides her with room and board in exchange for tips gathered by neighborhood cats. The big story concerns a greedy businessman.

Vincent Bal’s film should appeal to kids, cat lovers and felines. I give it two stars, and my cat, Audrey, gives it three meows.
