The garage attendant, who slapped the owner of famed Greenwich Village eatery, DaSilvano, with a saucy sexual harassment suit, has a violent arrest in his past, according to police records.
Restaurateur Silvano Marchetto’s accuser Samuel Cruz — who claimed in court papers that the restaurateur grabbed his penis in a Minetta Street garage — was accused of punching his pregnant wife in the stomach, slugging her in the face, and aiming a gun at her inside another Manhattan lot in September 1994, police confirmed.
“I’m going to kill you,” he allegedly screamed.
Police charged Cruz with weapon possession, assault and menacing, records show, and he pleaded guilty to a downgraded weapons count.
Cruz denied he beat his first wife, but didn’t want to risk trial.
Marchetto’s lawyers say it illustrates Cruz’s character.
Marchetto and his legal team deny Cruz’s allegations. “We believe that Cruz is making this up in a scam to gain money by attacking Silvano’s reputation in public,” his spokesman said.
“Samuel Cruz is a money-grubbing, wife-beating, gun-toting, scam-running, large, scary and angry man who should be the last person anyone wants parking their car or managing a parking garage in NYC,” a spokesman for Marchetto’s legal team told The Post.
