Boys basketball holiday roundup: St. Ray’s Dingle reaches 1,000 points in win over Middle Creek

Another game, another 1,000-point scorer for St. Raymond. Daniel Dingle reached the plateau in the Ravens’ 66-56 win over Middle Creek (N.C.) in the opener of the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. on Tuesday, just one game after teammate Kerwin Okoro accomplished the feat.

Dingle finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for St. Raymond (6-3) while Larry Graves sank three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 21 points. Shane Rector had nine points and Okoro seven. The Ravens meet Millbrook (N.C.) in the semifinals Thursday at 4 p.m.

The Bronx powerhouse plans to honor Okoro and Dingle in its first game of the New Year, Jan. 13 against Cardinal Hayes.

Lincoln 83, Bishop Manogue (Nev.) 38: Tafari Whittingham scored 16 points and Isaiah Whitehead and Shaquille Davis added 12 apiece for undefeated Lincoln (8-0) in the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. The Railsplitters face Skyline (Wash.) Wednesday at 8:30- p.m.

Xaverian 83, Estrella Foothilsl (Ariz.) 56: Brian Bernardi and Dillon Burns scored 17 points apiece and Joe Dello Russo had 15 for Xaverian, which led 29-10, after the first quarter in the Cactus Jam Hoop Classic in Phoenix, Ariz. The Clippers face El Toro (Calif.) Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the semifinals.

Mount St. Michael 78, Concord (Mass.) 67: Ed Correa pumped in 23 points and Anthony Maestre added 21 for Mount St. Michael in the opening round of the Josh Palmer Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament in Elmira, N.Y. the Mountaineers (7-1) take on defending New York State Federation Class A champion Long Island Lutheran in the semifinals on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

St. Francis Prep 55, CSI/McCown 46: Michael Fields scored 15 points, Gabriel Gonzalez added 12 points and Andrew Winter and Darren Cordero had 11 apiece for St. Francis Prep (5-4) in the Aviator Shootout in Brooklyn. Quamaine Tomlin paced CSI/McCown (7-3), which has dropped three straight, with 17 points.

Transit Tech 54, New Utrecht 38: Richard Williams had 20 points, six rebounds and four steals, Fabian MacDonald followed with 18 point, eight rebounds and four assists and Matt Banton had 14 points for Transit Tech (6-6), which has won three games in a row, in the Aviator Shootout in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Collegiate 54, Midwood 45: Adrian Williams hit four 3-pointers and scored 19 points, Ervin Mitchell added 14 points and five rebounds and Rashaad John had 11 for undefeated Brooklyn Collegiate (12-0) in the Aviator Shootout in Brooklyn.

St. Joseph (Conn.) 74, Archbishop Molloy 63: C.J. Davis scored 22 points and Marko Kozul had 16 for Molloy (10-3) in the Northeast Christmas Classic in Bridgeport, Conn. Quincy McKnight scored 27 points for St. Joe’s (4-0).

Watervliet (N.Y.) 56, Nazareth 48, 2 OT: Samson Usilo posted 28 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks and Mike Megafu added 12 points and 15 rebounds for Nazareth in the Watervliet Boys Holiday Basketball Tournament in Watervliet, N.Y. Naz takes on Catskill (N.Y.) Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Lake Clifton (Md.) 67, LaSalle 43: Shammgod Wells scored 14 points and Chris Polanco added five for LaSalle (3-5) in the IAABO Board 290 Memorial Mixer in Hyattsville, Md. LaSalle meets Digital Harbor (Md.) tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.

St. Peter’s 54, Bethlehem (N.Y.) 50: Latrell Curtis sank five 3-pointers and scored 20 points and Andrew Cannon followed with 13 points for St. Peter’s (5-3) in the Christian Brothers Academy Holiday Basketball Tournament in Albany, N.Y. The Eagles meet host CBA-Albany in the tournament championship game Wednesday at 7 p.m.

St. Edmund Prep 63, James Madison 50: Matt O’Neill scored 24 points, Chris Tsatsis had 19 points and Nick Grasso added 12 points and 10 rebounds for St. Edmund (8-1) in non-league. Lenworth Locke had 12 points for Madison.

Port Richmond 61, St. Joseph of Metuchen (N.J.) 55: Jefkins Agyemanbudu had 18 points, Emmanuel Ogunjemilusi scored 16 points and Odirachukw Onwyka had 12 for Port Richmond (1-11) in the Dayton High School Tournament in Springfield, N.J.

Colonia (N.Y.) 62, Monsignor Farrell 47: Devin Dunn scored 13 points and Jason Murphy added 11for Farrell (3-7) in the Immaculata Tournament. The Lions play in the consolation round Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
