NYPD sergeant cuffed, kicked off Greyhound bus in Philadelphia

The New York Police Department says its Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating an incident where a police sergeant was kicked off a Greyhound bus in Philadelphia because he was too drunk.

A video taken by a passenger shows the bus driver repeatedly trying to get Sgt. Carlos Fabara off the bus, which was full of passengers on their way home to New York after the holiday weekend.

Geoff Parrish was one of several people who recorded the incident and posted it on YouTube. He said Sergeant Fabara and another New York City police officer were off-duty, and the bus driver did not want them on his bus.

Parrish said the driver got so frustrated that he called security guards, who handcuffed the sergeant and removed him from the bus.

The NYPD confirmed Fabara is the same police officer who in 2007 was profiled in newspaper reports as having the most civilian complaints lodged against him in one year.

Internal Affairs is investigating Tuesday’s incident and is also trying to identify the other officer who was with Fabara.
