CHSAA/Private boys basketball roundup: Lissak leads Columbia Prep to rout of Browning

Brian Lissak had 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and Don Peebles had 18 points as Columbia Prep took apart Browning, 93-40, in NYCAL boys basketball Wednesday afternoon. Josh Mark added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Michael Schottenfeld tallied 10 points for Columbia Prep (8-2, 2-0), which hosts Loyola Friday at 6 p.m.

IVY LEAGUE

Collegiate 60, Dalton 48: Connor Huff had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Ryan Frankel also had 17 for undefeated Collegiate in the Ivy Prep League. The Dutchmen (7-0, 2-0) face Albany Academy on Friday at 7:45 p.m. while Dalton (5-4, 0-3) hosts Dwight Friday at 6 p.m.

CHSAA CLASS A

Iona Prep 63, Regis 40: Tim McCarthy had 19 points and Isiah Ice and Felix Abongo each had 11 points for Iona (9-0, 3-0 ‘A’). Will Salter and Tim Petriccione each had nine points for Regis (6-6, 1-2).

CHSAA CLASS B

Sacred Heart 70, Blessed Sacrament 48: John Gauese had 25 points, B.J. White had 14 points and Matt Balaj had 13 points for Sacred Heart (5-2, 2-0 ‘B’). Blessed Sacrament is 1-9, 0-1.

ACIS

Packer Collegiate 66, Brooklyn Friends 21: David Chin scored 12 points, Ethan Fedlman had 11 points and Jake Miller added nine for Packer (5-3, 4-1) in the ACIS. The Pelicans host St. Ann’s on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Berkeley Carroll 53, Staten Island Academy 50: Shane Pearley had 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Dondre Benson added eight rebounds, Cole Kitchen had five steals and seven different players scored for Berkeley Carroll (7-2, 3-1) in the ACIS. The Lions face Brooklyn Friends Friday at 5:30 p.m. James Morisano scored 15 points and his brother Alex had 13 for SIA, which faces St. Ann’s Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Brooklyn.

ISAL

York Prep 68, BWL 48: Shane Richards had 21 points and eight rebounds, Luke Cohen followed with 16 points and seven rebounds and Elie Mamiye added 11 points and 11 rebounds for York Prep (4-2, 4-0), which faces Riverdale on Thursday in non-league, in the ISAL.

NON-LEAGUE

Monsignor Farrell 63, New Dorp 46: Steven Steyer had 22 points and Connor Nicholson had 19 points for Farrell (5-7). Michael Arubuola had 13 points and Tyler Christiansen added 10 for New Dorp (6-9).

St. Peter’s 43, Susan Wagner 35: Andrew Cannon had 12 points and Jack Shanahan had 10 points for St. Peter’s (6-4). James Bertucci and Enijah Patterson each had nine points for Wagner (7-9).

Calhoun 81, Garden 45: Zuri Pavlin posted 29 points, 13 rebounds, five steals, four assists and four blocks and Max Tabatsky added 12 points and six assists for Calhoun (2-5), which hosts Trevor Day on Friday at 5:30 p.m., in non-league.

Notes: The CHSAA Class B game between Nazareth and Monsignor Scanlan was postponed after the death of Nazareth girls basketball coach Apache Paschall, according to Naz coach Todd Jamison. A makeup date has not yet been decided.
