New legal show talks for Star Jones

Star Jones is in talks to co-host a syndicated legal show.

The former co-host of “The View,” who left the ABC gabfest in 2006 after nine years, would be one of five panelists on the show, to be produced by Debmar-Mercury in partnership with Scripps, according to deadline.com.

Like “The View,” the Jones show would feature five panelists — and Jones has already taped some segments, and is the only co-host affiliated with the project thus far, according to the report.

Jones, 51 — whose legal background includes a five-year stint as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn — has also been a legal correspondent and commentator for NBC News, Court TV and “Inside Edition.”

She also hosted her own syndicated show, “Jones & Jury,” for one season (1994-95) and appeared on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Debmar-Mercury also distributes Charlie Sheen’s “Anger Management.”
