O turns the table

WASHINGTON — They were promised dinner, but had to settle for lunch.

Welcome to Washington.

President Obama took a Nevada teacher, an Afghanistan war vet, a Colorado postal worker and an Atlanta firefighter out to lunch in DC yesterday as the prize in a contest the campaign offered to people who donated as little as $3 to the president’s re-election bid.

A week ago, Michelle Obama promised donors they would be “entered for a chance to be one of three supporters to have dinner with Barack and me.”

The campaign confirmed that the first lady did not attend.

Obama himself promised a “casual dinner” to which three supporters could bring guests, but it ended up being him and just the four winners.

Firefighter Scott Zoebisch told The Post the event with the “humble” Obama was “awesome.” When asked, he said the campaign never gave him an opportunity to bring his wife.

“She was standing on my luggage saying, ‘You gotta take me, too.’ ”
