Clueless: Headphones-wearing man walks into side of moving train

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Authorities say a man wearing headphones unwittingly walked into the side of a moving train in northern New Jersey, but escaped with only minor injuries.

New Jersey Transit Spokesman John Durso Jr. tells The Jersey Journal (http://bit.ly/y7JUN2) that the man, whose name was not disclosed, was alert while being treated at the scene for facial cuts. He was later taken to a hospital for further evaluation, but details on his condition were not disclosed.

The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. Friday in Jersey City, in the area of Essex and Van Vorst streets. Durso said officials believe the man did not see the light rail train approaching and — due to his headphones — did not hear it.

No passengers on the train were injured in the accident.
