Columbia class nix

Columbia students can still protest the 1 percent — they just won’t get course credits for it anymore.

Less than a week after The Post reported the Ivy school was planning a spring course devoted to Occupy Wall Street — taught by an OWS protester and requiring extensive fieldwork with “ongoing OWS projects” — the class has been canceled.

The chair of the Anthropology Department, Elizabeth Povinelli, called it an “inadvertent mistake” that the class was ever posted.

“Occupy the Field: Global Finance, Inequality, Social Movement,” taught by Dr. Hannah Appel, promised a light reading load because students were expected to spend time protesting.
