‘Probation’ for cart-smash kid

Probation officials recommended no jail — and instead “highly supervised” probation — for the younger of the two boys who confessed to tossing a shopping cart onto a woman at a Harlem shopping center last October.

The recommendation for Raymond Hernandez, 12, was given during sentencing proceedings in Manhattan Family Court.

No such recommendation has yet been made for Hernandez’s friend and co-defendant in the horrific prank, Jiovanni Rosario, now 13.

The boys pleaded guilty in November to assault for hurling the cart over a fourth-floor railing.

The cart struck Marion Hedges, who is now struggling to overcome brain damage.
