Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger’s civil sexual assault lawsuit settled

RENO, Nev. — A sexual assault civil case brought against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been settled, but neither side has disclosed the terms of the agreement, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

Roethlisberger, 29, was accused of sexually assaulting Andrea McNulty, a former VIP hostess at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe casino hotel, in July 2008. The now 33-year-old woman filed the civil suit against the Steelers quarterback in August 2009, claiming Roethlisberger lured her into his penthouse suite and forced her to have sex with him.

The case was to be heard by the Washoe District Court in Reno, Nev.

McNulty’s lawyer, Cal Dunlap, on Friday refused to discuss the terms of the settlement, which was finalized last month, the Gazette-Journal reported.

Roethlisberger’s lawyer and agent did not respond to calls and emails from the newspaper.

In March 2010, the two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback was named in a separate sexual assault investigation in Georgia, but no charges were filed due to lack of evidence.

Roethlisberger married long-time on-again, off-again girlfriend Ashley Harlan last July in a ceremony in front of around 600 guests in Pittsburgh.
