Sylvester Stallone’s son found dead; cause of death believed to be pill overdose

The son of Sylvester Stallone has been found dead in his Hollywood home.

Sage Moonblood Stallone, 36, was found dead this afternoon at an apartment, his attorney confirmed to The New York Post. And sources tell Page Six that Sage Stallone is believed to have died following an overdose of pills.

The source said pills were found at his home, but it was unclear if his death was a suicide or accidental.

The LAPD said the case has been referred to the coroner.

Sage’s attorney George Braunstein said Sage was found a couple hours ago in his home. He told The Post: “I have just gotten a report that he was found dead at his home.”

“He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects,” said Braunstein. “He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.”

A rep for the LAPD confirmed that Sage Stallone was found dead alone in his home.

“There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity”, the rep said, adding that police went to the home for a “welfare check,” when someone couldn’t get in touch with Stallone and asked the police to investigate.

Sage made his acting debut alongside his father in 1990s Rocky V. He then moved into directing and producing.

Sylvester had been at Comic Con in San Diego this week promoting Lionsgate’s “The Expendables 2” with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.

Sylvester Stallone’s rep, Michelle Bega, said: “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”
