Drawing inspiration from India, Vera Wang presented her Spring 2013 show with a runway sprinkled with rich jewel tones, from printed azure damask faille and navy lace jacquard to cypress green guipure and gold embellishments. Structured and tailored vests, choli jackets and high-low tops played the main role in silhouettes with another side of the world appeal. Wang also put the spotlight on feminine shaped full tulip skirts.
The intricate detailed craft work stood out and could mostly be seen in the opening numbers with white-on-white embroidery. The rich gold threads that closed the show also showcased the craftmanship and brought everything full circle.
