The Fabulous Baker Boys, 1989

Sunday, 8 p.m., Reelz

Just a terrifically entertaining bit of fluff about two piano-playing brothers, Jack and Frank Baker (Jeff and Beau Bridges), who have a good but going-nowhere-fast lounge act. Well, it’s going nowhere until they bring in a chanteuse, Susie Diamond (Michelle Pfeiffer), who is a pro. But she’s not a singing kind of pro. With Susie aboard, things take off — and Jack decides to take them in a different direction. Wow! What Pfeiffer can do atop a grand piano!

Moneyball, 2011

Tuesday, 6:40 p.m., Starz

The based-on-truth story of Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), who had the tightest budget for salaries in all of the major leagues. Strapped, desperate and dealing with $76 million ess than the Yankees, he teams up with Yale mathematics nerd Peter Brand (Jonah Hill). Hey — if agents and teams treat players like nothing but numbers, maybe a statistical analysis of a player’s stats versus salary can make a winning team of more with less.

Buena Vista Social Club, 1999

Wednesday, 4:15 p.m., Sundance

Wim Wenders’ brilliant, joyful, life-affirming documentary about a group of Cuban musicians who were all but forgotten after the revolution but who were brought back together by guitarist Ry Cooder (with Joaquim Cooder) to start making music and to record an album in Cuba. With stories about their lives — some are in their 90s —interwoven with the best music you’ll ever hear, this is one of those stand up and cheer movies. Do not miss It!

The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, 1994

Friday, 2:35 p.m., HBOSGe

A delightful camp-fest about a traveling drag show rolling through the Australian desert, of all places, in a broken-down bus called Priscilla. Along the way they discover that the venue is owned by one of the performer’s ex-wives, and find Bob, a mechanic who decides to travel with them. In between the laughs, it’s quite touching. With Guy Pearce, Terrence Stamp and Hugo Weaving as the companions.
