Arrest in pooch slaughter

A heartless thug made good on a promise to kill an adorable pooch, the pet’s owner said yesterday.

Jovanni Lozano, 30, was charged yesterday with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief over the death of the Pomeranian, Jordan, who was found bludgeoned to death in a Queens apartment last month, officials said.

Jordan’s owner, Jamila Wright, 31, claimed Lozano had previously threatened the 13-year-old dog.

“Jovanni has been saying he wanted to kill Jordan for months now,” Wright said. “He has kicked, hit and abused him. He and the dog were here alone when my sister called saying my baby choked to death or something and died.”

Lozano was arrested yesterday by ASPCA cops at a Queens court where he was appearing on unrelated robbery charges.

Authorities were called on Jan. 15 to the Middle Village apartment, where Jordan was found with a bulging eye and a skull broken in six pieces, said Joseph Pentangelo of the ASPCA.

But Lozano’s girlfriend, Nneke Lewis — who is also Wright’s sister and roommate — denied they had a dog.

“The only animals that live here are my two cats, no dog,” she said.
