Axed American at British-run private school in East Village files suit over dismissal

It’s the Revolutionary War all over again at a British-run East Village elementary school.

A fired admissions director at the World Class Learning Academy claims in a Manhattan civil-court suit that British employees are treated much better by school chiefs than their American counterparts.

Brits John and Dawn Taylor — who run the school where tuition runs up to $34,000 a year — “gave British employees greater allowances for time off, raises, excusal from student supervisory duties and subsidized lunches,” ousted Brooklyn mom Sarah Bottoms, 49, claims in her suit.

Those are perks that were not offered to American staff, she says in the suit claiming national-origin, sex and age discrimination.

At last year’s Christmas Party, just before Bottoms’ termination after three years at the school, Dawn Taylor allegedly said before a group of fellow Brits, “We need to get rid of the Americans,” Bottoms claims.

Dawn also ripped Bottoms’ fashion sense, reprimanding her for wearing pant suits and demanding that she use lipstick because “that’s how an admissions director should dress,” according to court documents.

Dawn, whose school admits students ages 2 to 11 and uses the English National Curriculum, also allegedly spent time thinking more about sex than ABCs.

“On more than one occasion, Ms. Taylor told Ms. Bottoms that men preferred Asian woman because” their sexual organs were smaller, the suit claims.

Bottoms says she went to HR — and was fired.

“World Class Learning takes this very, very seriously, and will conduct a very thorough investigation and take appropriate action,” said school lawyer Ben Fryer.
