Brain-stab cop’s climb

A Harlem cop who survived a stab wound to the brain last year has been promoted to detective.

Eder Loor walked slowly up to the stage to receive his citation yesterday. The auditorium full of police officers and family members gave him a standing ovation.

Loor was wounded in April 2012 while responding to the 911 call of a mother concerned for her disturbed son, Terrance Hale.

Prosecutors say that as officers followed Hale down the street, he plunged a knife into Loor’s head. The blade fractured Loor’s skull before hitting his brain.

Authorities found Hale had been released from prison without an evaluation to determine whether he needed further treatment.
