Jets WR Nelson: ‘Pacman’ taunted me

Jets wide receiver David Nelson heard a lot of talking from Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones in Sunday’s 49-9 loss, but says he did not take any of Jones’ comments seriously.

Nelson said he never felt threatened, but confirmed Jones did say something along the lines of he was going to find out where Nelson lives and come to get him.

“In the heat of the battle I’ve heard a lot of crazy stuff said, never to that point, but at the same time it was in the middle of the game. It was never repeated,” Nelson said Monday. “At the end of the game, he didn’t come up and say anything. It was one of those things where he was extremely frustrated or extremely irritated and just said it in the heat of the game. I didn’t take it any further than that one play.

“I wouldn’t say it was a threat.”

Jones told Cincinnati reporters Nelson was playing dirty and that he had cut block him several times. Nelson said he cut Jones once, but played within the rules.

“I play physical from whistle to whistle,” said Nelson, who had eight catches for 80 yards. “I’ve never had an issue with it before. I’ve never had anybody call me dirty ever in my life before. This was just an instance where he wasn’t too fond of playing against a physical receiver from the beginning of the game until late in the game. I just think his view of ‘dirty’ is a little different than mine.”

Jones also said Jets coach Rex Ryan told him to “shut the hell up” when he started yelling at the Jets sideline about Nelson’s play.

“I don’t recall having that conversation with him,” Ryan said. “I’ve always liked him. I guess it’s a possibility. I just don’t remember it.”
