A police canine in Lawrence, Mass., turned into a doggie Dirty Harry when he dug up a fleeing criminal’s gun — which had been tossed in a snow bank — and fired the weapon by hitting the trigger with his paw.

The shot missed the crook, but it led to quite a scare for the pistol-packing pooch’s cop handler — and the criminal, who was eventually caught.

A college baseball player made a great play — for a football game.

Pitcher Levi Austin, of Berry College in Rome, Ga., decided to pull a page out the gridiron playbook when he tried to keep a base runner from scoring on a wild pitch by tackling him like a linebacker before the opponent could reach home.

Austin was suspended but not before he returned to the mound and won the game.

This robbery suspect arrived at jail via special delivery.

A thug from Hemet, Calif., allegedly ripped off a supermarket and threatened to shoot a security guard as he fled the store.

Police later found that the suspect, Salvador Barnes, had dropped a piece of mail with his address on it, and they didn’t take long to track him down.

When 4-year-old Dylan Hayes fell from the third-floor window of his family’s home in Denver, his mom and dad feared the worst.

But the lucky tot flipped over twice in the air before landing on his feet.

He was taken to a hospital as a precaution but, incredibly, was found to be unharmed.

Iran has come up with a new way to fight its growing rat problem — snipers.

The country has deployed riflemen around Tehran to shoot the pesky rodents — some of which are as large as cats — after an earlier plan to poison the pests had little effect.
