More ‘rent-slay’ raps

A Brooklyn landlord accused of shooting his tenant to death over $100 in unpaid rent will be charged with murder — plus attempted murder for trying to blast the tenant’s sister and her kids, police said yesterday.

Philip Estevez, 63, allegedly shot tenant Luis Martinez, 51, during the rent fight in their East New York home on Sunday, cops said.

Estevez then pulled the trigger while aiming at Martinez’s sister and her two young children, but the gun didn’t fire, cops said.

“I knocked on the front door, and Philip opened the door covered in blood and holding a bat in his hand,” said Ana Maria de Oca, 55, a home attendant who shared the basement apartment with Martinez.

The landlord, expected to be arraigned last night, also will be charged with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
