Bad Samaritan gets 20 years for raping drunk woman

He was a really bad Samaritan — telling a drunken young woman that he was the West Village “neighborhood watchman” and could help her, only to rape and beat her in a Perry Street stairwell — but now, monstrous Ivan Ramos is going to prison for 20 years.

“My body was a crime scene,” the pretty, brunette victim remembered in a victim impact statement she read aloud as Ramos was sentenced today.

“I do not want this man to hurt another woman,” the 30-year-old brunette told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Laura Ward. “He should not be allowed to destroy another life.”

The woman had lost her wallet and was disoriented and alone after a night out drinking last April. Ramos, 23, of Brooklyn, offered help, then pulled her into a stairwell, beating her into submission in an attack captured in a 15-minute sidewalk surveillance tape.

Neighbors who heard her screams called for cops, who caught Ramos at the scene zipping his pants, and with the victim’s Bank of America ATM card in his pocket. He pleaded guilty in January.
