V.A. to snub new gun law

Mental-health professionals at the US Department of Veterans Affairs won’t comply with a state gun law that requires them to report patients they think are a danger to themselves or others.

The VA yesterday said the mandate, which takes effect Saturday, would violate federal confidentiality laws that “do not authorize VA . . . to comply,” said agency spokesman Mark Ballesteros.

Gov. Cuomo said yesterday he is aware the law has limits.
