Jim Parsons ‘Theory’: ‘I could play The Flash’

Jim Parsons says casting him as The Flash could be “a match made in heaven.”

The “Big Bang Theory” star is rumored to be under consideration for next year’s big screen adaptation.

“I need to study up on the Flash,” he said Wednesday at a PaleyFest event in LA. “I know that he is red and gold and moves quickly. But I do have a theory that a lot of times, actors do their best work when they are playing characters that they know little-to-nothing about — at first.

“And, therefore, they have little-to- no attachment or feelings towards them,” he said. “So, in some ways, this could be a match made in heaven between me and The Flash.

“Or, knowing nothing about him, I could step in for a long shoot that was pure hell.”

“The Flash” movie is slated for 2014 with Greg Berlanti (“Arrow”) among the writers. So far, no casting announcements have been made.

Parsons’ TV alter-ego, Sheldon Cooper, is an outspoken fan of The Flash and has donned his famous costume in multiple episodes.
