The Mets released their preliminary schedule for 2014 – a season tinged with some Matt Harvey-dependent optimism in Flushing. Here are the highlights:
*The Mets and Yankees again play a four-game, two-stadium series: May 12-13 in The Bronx and May 14-15 in Queens. The Amazin’s swept that set in 2013.
*The season begins March 31 at home against the Nationals.
*The other interleague visitors at Citi Field are the A’s (June 24-25), Rangers (July 4-6, a Friday-Sunday) and Astros (Sept. 26-28, their final series).
*The Mets see Mike Trout for the first time when they travel to the Angels for three games April 11-13.
No times are set, and the schedule is subject to change by MLB.
