Ad race is on for Christie

TRENTON, NJ — Commercials promoting Gov. Chris Christie’s re-election will start Thursday.

The governor’s campaign has bought 10 days of air time for $1.5 million.

A person familiar with the purchase told The Associated Press the ads on New York and Philadelphia TV stations will be positive.

Christie’s commercials are the first of the general election campaign.

The governor has raised the maximum $4.22 million the state allows for public matching funds.
