Elderly man run over at bus stop

An elderly man was critically injured today when a pickup truck slammed into another vehicle and jumped a curb in Brooklyn before plowing into him as he was waiting at a bus stop, police sources and witnesses said.

The man was sitting on a bench waiting for the B4 bus in Dyker Heights when a Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling east on Bay Ridge Parkway ran a red light and crashed into a van going south on 13th Avenue at around 11:30 a.m., sources and witnesses said.

The truck then veered onto the sidewalk and ran over the man, shattering the glass bus stop.

He was taken to Lutheran Hospital where officials said he was likely to die.

The driver got a summons for driving with an expired license.
