One of the most stellar pop holiday albums of all time, “A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector,” features the Crystals, the Ronettes, Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans and Darlene Love, and stars pop maestro Spector’s spectacular wall of sound. Released in 1963 — on the day JFK was shot and 46 years before Spector was convicted of murder — the album, recently remastered and released, includes yuletide faves such as Love’s “Winter Wonderland” and the Crystals’ “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”
Besides Santa, Love, 68, and the Ronettes’ lead singer, Ronnie Spector, 66, are coming to town for their annual holiday fetes. This year the girl-group singers both perform at B.B. King Blues Club — Love tomorrow (Sunday), and Spector on Dec. 19 and 20. Here’s what you need to know about these two holiday wonders.
