Brittany ‘death’ shot pulled

A morbid promotional poster featuring an ashen-faced Brittany Murphy portraying a dead woman is being yanked from more than 19,000 DVD rental kiosks around the nation.

The Illinois-based DVD rental outfit redbox had been promoting Murphy’s independent flick “Deadline” since Dec. 1.

The DVD cover depicts an emaciated-looking Murphy with a lifeless stare on her face and her arm draped over the edge of a bathtub.

The company said it will completely remove “Deadline” by Jan. 1.

There are 529 redbox kiosks in New York City and surrounding suburbs. Three are in Manhattan.

“It just feels like the right thing to do,” said company rep Laura Dihel.

Murphy, 32, collapsed and died in the bathroom of her LA home on Sunday; her husband placed her in the shower in a desperate bid to revive her.

Investigators have labeled the cause of death as cardiac arrest, but won’t make a final ruling until toxicology test results come back in several weeks.

“She seemed thin to me — thin and not completely well,” said Darin Scott, who directed Murphy in one of her final movies, “Something Wicked.”

Scott told The Post that Murphy was a dedicated actress and missed only one day during six weeks of shooting this summer, when she was sick and saw a doctor.

“I said to her I thought she needed to gain some weight,” he recalled.

A Jewish funeral service for the “Clueless” star is set for today at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park — Michael Jackson’s final resting place, sources said. Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, is Jewish.

Investigators reportedly found many prescription medications at her home.
