Back when she was barely a blip on the Hollywood radar, Garner co-starred with Ashton Kutcher in the critically-panned “Dude, Where’s My Car?” The movie wasn’t a total wash, though, as Garner and Kutcher, seen here playfully embracing at the film’s premiere, have reunited for the upcoming “Valentine’s Day.” Mirek Towski/DMI Photo

In 1998, Garner was cast as Scott Foley’s character’s girlfriend in the WB TV show “Felicity.” The on-screen relationship blossomed off-screen and the two were later married. But their marriage fell apart in 2003 after “Felicity” ended and Garner was well on her way to becoming a big star, thanks to her starring role in ABC’s “Alias.” Here they are in happier times at the 2002 Golden Globes, where Garner was named best actress in a drama series. In 2004, Garner, who was previously known for her action heroine roles, showed her softer side in the romantic comedy, “13 Going on 30” opposite Mark Ruffalo. It would be the first in a string of rom-coms for the burgeoning A-lister. Melinda Sue Gordon

In the remake of “Arthur,” Garner plays an ambitious corporate executive whom Arthur’s mom forces him to marry in order to keep his inheritance. As you can see in the above still from the film, Arthur, played by Russell Brand, is less-than-thrilled with the match.–By Hilary Lewis ©Warner Bros
