Thirsty? Here at the best bars to patronize during the NCAA tournament

David Diehl, the restaurant manager in Brooklyn, has no relation to Giants offensive lineman David Diehl. But he remains in the sports business.

Diehl’s 200 Fifth bar in Park Slope (200 5 Ave., Brooklyn) is walking distance from Barclays Center and hosted a number of teams from the Atlantic 10 basketball tournament this past weekend. Diehl is hoping for the next few weeks to be even bigger.

“We want to be a March Madness headquarters,” Diehl told The Post. “We want to boast being Brooklyn’s original sports bar.”

200 Fifth has 108 flat-screen televisions with the capability of showing every single NCAA tournament game over the next month. There’s also 40 beers on tap, including a ton from local breweries like Brooklyn and Coney Island.

Diehl plans on having brackets everywhere to help people keep up with how their picks are doing plus plenty of food and wing specials throughout March Madness.

SPiN, a ping-pong club and sports bar in the Flatiron District, will be open every day for games at 11 a.m., and it’s offering a deal for New York Post readers – half price for ping pong during weekday games when mentioning the paper at the front desk. SPiN (48 E 23 St.) is owned by actress Susan Sarandon.

It’ll truly be madness at Bounce Sporting Club in Flatiron. BSC (55 W 21 St.) is featuring a one-man robotic light show during games. The bar will also be debuting new staff uniforms – ranging from referee outfits with whistles to favorite team attire and face paint. Drink specials will be headlined by Bounce’s homeade banana-infused Jameson shots.

For a more laidback atmosphere, try Standings in the East Village. Owner Gary Gillis will be serving free pizza starting at 11:45 a.m. before the games this Thursday and Friday. And you can’t leave Standings (43 E 7 St.) without trying out one of its famous 72-ounce mega-pitchers. For the tournament, they’ll only be $20 a pop. Make sure to get to the intimate, die-hard sports bar early, though. It’s not a huge space.

New York Beer Company in Midtown will feature what it does best in the coming weeks – brews. There will be complimentary tastings of Blue Point beer and free t-shirts given out Thursday and Friday, the first days of the tournament. Friday night there will be $8 flights on select beers and $15 Growlers all month long. You can watch the games on NYBC’s (321 W 44 St.) 24 TVs with guides to which games will be where on the wall.

If you like Sam Adams, Croxley’s Ale House in Alphabet City and Third & Long in Midtown are the places for you. Croxley’s (28 Ave B) is offering $5 pints of Sam Adams Lager, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and Angry Orchard throughout the NCAA tournament. There will also be 20-cent wings all day and night during March Madness. Third & Long (523 3 Ave.) will have $4 Sam Adams on tap during games.

Hooters isn’t just known for the waitresses, at least not the one in Midtown. This month, Hooters (211 W. 56 St) is offering $12.99 pitchers of Budweiser, Bud Light and Bud Select and $15.99 pitchers for other select beers. As usual, there will be plenty of wing specials and the games on all their flat-screen TVs.

Midtown’s Public House has a sweet $35 package during games – including unlimited Budweiser, Bud Light, Miller Lite and wings. If you’re still thirsty, Public House (140 E 41 St.) will be doling out $20 buckets of beer. Plus, if you fill out one of their brackets, you’ll enter to win a free iPad.
