Dirty old man out to pasture

A 73-year-old “sex addict” paralegal who is one of the longest-serving employees at the city’s Law Department is being forced out for ignoring repeated warnings not to open or send sexually explicit e-mails, The Post has learned.

Aban Cooper’s 32-year career is being cut short after a judge determined he sent and received 19 e-mails with nude images or lewd jokes in April 2009, printed racy material on an office printer three months later, and received more suggestive e-mails in August and November even after being served with disciplinary charges.

A psychiatrist’s evaluation presented at the hearing reported Cooper suffered from “sexual addiction.”

Officials said Cooper “has decided to retire” and his last day at work will be April 30. He declined comment when reached at his desk yesterday.
