Pedro still loves Mets fans

BOSTON — Pedro Martinez was back in a Red Sox uniform last night — for one pitch only.

The Red Sox legend threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park before the Yankees-Sox game, then watched three innings from a suite decked out in his former Boston No. 45 jersey.

When Martinez walked onto the field from the outfield, he stopped to hug Alex Rodriguez who was warming up behind third base. The embrace drew boos from the Fenway crowd.

Martinez is holding out hope that someone will sign him midseason like the Phillies did last year.

Asked if Omar Minaya should call him to aid the Mets’ weak pitching staff, Martinez said jokingly, “Who?” He then said, “Ask him.”

Martinez, 38, was told Mets fans still love him as Red Sox security ushered him away.

“I know,” he said. “I love them to.”
