Maybe her hips do lie.
The creative director who oversaw the design and photography of Shakira’s new album, “She Wolf,” is suing Sony records for allegedly stiffing him for some $64,000, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Sought-after designer Lee Swillingham, former art director of The Face and Dazed & Confused magazines, signed a $63,000 contract with Sony last spring for his services. The music company coughed up half the dough up front.
Swillingham also earned $5,000 a day for extra work, totaling an additional $36,000, the court documents state.
Then Sony pulled a bait and switch, claimed Swillingham’s lawyer, Sam Israel.
Israel said his client signed a document that, in fine print, stated that Sony owes nothing if the record label isn’t pleased with the final project.
Israel says his client is out of pocket by about $64,000 now, because Sony falsely claims it didn’t find the work satisfactory, yet the company still used the images Swillingham created for the album.
Sony did not reply to a Post request to comment.
