John Edwards’ ex-mistress wants sex tapes back

Disgraced former presidential contender John Edwards and his former mistress made a sex tape together while she was pregnant — and now the baby mama’s trying to get those steamy recordings back.

Rielle Hunter has obtained a court order demanding that a former Edwards aide turn over videotapes and photos Hunter claims belong to her.

“In or about September 2006, using my video camera, I authored a personal video recording that depicted matters of a very private and personal nature,” Hunter wrote in an affidavit filed Thursday. “In 2006, I was also having an intimate relationship with Edwards.”

“The decision was made that the Video be destroyed” in December 2006, Hunter wrote. She said she pulled out the tape from the cassette and stored it in a box with personal belongings.

Edwards’ former aide, Andrew Young, claims in a tell-all book, “The Politician,” that he found a sex tape made by Edwards and Hunter in 2007.

The book is slated to hit bookstores this weekend.

Maj. Charles Blackwood, a spokesman for the Orange County, NC Sheriff’s Office, told CBS News that the restraining order “speaks to video recordings and photographs that depict matters of a private and personal nature.”

Young refused to give the tapes and photos to authorities earlier this week, CBS News reported.

Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, who has been suffereing from breast cancer, have legally separated and have been living in different homes since Christmas.

The couple has three kids together.

After nearly two years of denials, the married Edwards, 56, admitted last week that Frances Quinn Hunter, born in 2008 to Hunter, is his daughter.

Young, who is married, originally claimed at Edwards’ behest that he — not the failed Democratic presidential candidate — had fathered Hunter’s baby.

Edwards, after spending the Christmas holidays with his family, moved out of their Chapel Hill, NC, home into an annex on the property known as “The Barn.”
