Conan sells two pilots to NBC

Days after he was ditched as host of “The Tonight Show” by NBC, Conan O’Brien’s production company has sold an hour-long pilot to the network, it was reported Wednesday.

The untitled O’Brien project, known as “Justice,” was written by John Eisendrath and was described as a new take on a law show with a larger-than-life character at the center, The Hollywood Reporter said.

In addition to buying the pilot, NBC ordered another concept show, from O’Brien’s company Conaco, a multicamera comedy dubbed “The Pink House.”

Eisendrath is executive producing, with O’Brien, his longtime colleague Jeff Ross and Conaco’s David Kissinger also expected to serve as executive producers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC confirmed last Thursday that O’Brien was leaving “The Tonight Show” after seven months at the helm, and that former host Jay Leno would return to the program.

O’Brien’s termination deal is worth $44 million, including $12 million in payouts to his 175 person staff, Fox News reported. The NBC statement made no mention of compensation.

As part of O’Brien’s settlement, his NBC-based company was to continue to operate at NBC Universal through the end of the development season.
