Project Runway at Fashion Week

Project Runway took over the Bryant Park tents Friday morning for one of the longest shows in fashion week history. The season seven finale show taped Friday morning and featured collections from the 10 remaining contestants to keep the identities of the real finalists hidden. The resulting show that was over an hour long (the average fashion show is 10-20 minutes). Judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and guest judge Faith Hill (and 1,000 more of us) were subjected to good, bad and some really questionable looks. While we don’t envy the judges’ job, the NY Post has narrowed down the list. Here’s who we’re betting on for the top four:

Amy Sarabi
: Inspired by digital printing, you can see the influence of other designers (Ralph Rucci, Viktor & Rolf, Commes Des Garcon) in her work. That doesn’t take away from her top notch level of execution and creativity like with this uber-pleated fan dress.

Seth Aaron Henderson: Clearly the phrase, “Go big or go home,” resonates with him. His collection was bold color-wise (black, white, red and even yellow plaid) and design-wise too. He created what we believe to be the best piece in the whole show — a gray woven trench coat that was molded and poufed and just spectacular.

Mila Hermanowski: Inspired by shadows, there was an awful lot of black and white in this collection. What stood out was her attention to detail and unorthodox play with fabric. A furry mohair top and sparkle mini was chic, a vertically ruffled blouse was clever and her patent leather halter over a purple dress was so modern.

Anthony Williams: It doesn’t matter if this fan favorite wins or loses — tv will come knocking at his personable door regardless of his design talent. But he is talented as his eveningwear collection showed. This one loves color, glam and making a statement like with these paillet pants and sculpted jacket — hello shoulders!
