Man seeking to stop release of ‘Jersey Shore’ DVD

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A man claiming he was beaten during an episode of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” reality show is trying to stop the release of a video depicting the incident.

An attorney for Stephen Izzo Jr. will ask a judge to ban distribution of a DVD set of the show’s first season.

Eugene LaVergne says cast member Ronnie Magro, who has been charged with aggravated assault, should not profit from his criminal conduct. The attorney told the Asbury Park Press of Neptune he also wants an order stopping Ortiz from receiving further payments for his role on the show.

The lawsuit alleges Magro punched Izzo without provocation after an argument at a Seaside Heights nightclub.

The show focuses on the escapades of eight 20-somethings thrown together at a summer shore house.
