Fashion Week 2010 Buzz roundup

FRIDAY, FEB. 19

* MUSICAL CHAIRS

Through the luck of an empty seat, we found ourselves seated in the front row next to Russell Simmons at the Isaac Mizrahi show. Between his frequent tweets about both biblical scripture and runway fashion, Simmons told us about Flaviana Matata, a former Miss Tanzania whom he and SI swimsuit star Julie Henderson recently helped land a modeling contract. On the other side of Buzz was Veronica Webb, the first African-American model with a national cosmetics deal, in 1994. Webb is also hopeful for more international diversity. “There’s still a long way to go,” she said, “but if there’s anything this industry loves, it’s an emerging market.”

* TIMBERLAKE TOURISM

“Memphis,” the Broadway musical, is a hit with Southern tourists, and Justin Timberlake’s parents are no exception. The night before his William Rast show, Paul and Lynn Harless, visiting from Memphis, the actual city, took a chauffeured car from their hotel to the Shubert Theatre. Lynn told us they loved the show, and the best part: Their driver’s name was Elvis.

* RIPPED, TORN

Fresh from an appearance on David Letterman, “SNL” starlet Abby Elliott took a moment out from partying on Hudson Terrace’s VIP deck to give Buzz her take on Fashion Week. “Ripped is the new torn! Get it? Rip Torn!” Really, Abby, there’s nothing funny about alcoholism . . . OK, maybe there is.

* HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL

“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” star Carson Kressley was chillin’ backstage in the W Lounge when we asked if there was room for a “Straight Eye for the Queer Guy” program on TV. “Sure, it’s called high school,” quipped Kressley, adding, “I love The Post.”

* THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!

Eighteen years of Bryant Park shows came to a close with Tommy Hilfiger making an emotional speech at the end of his show, the last in the park. Ashley Olsen, Rosario Dawson, Ed Westwick and a contingent of NY Giants came out to see this fashion finale. In a season conspicuously low on A-list star power, Rosario offered us some perspective: “There was an era when designers made their clothes for the famous. But that was the time of Marilyn Monroe,” she said. “Now the designers are celebrities themselves, and our presence is not so important.”

* HAUTE APPLIANCE

Vivienne Tam is a creative force who wants to be known for more than only designing clothes. She already has a line of couture notebook computers, and yesterday announced a new series of $200 headphones that are as much fashion accessory as consumer electronics. Buzz asked her what’s next on the design radar. “A cell phone might be interesting, but what I’d really like to try is a fashionable rice cooker.”

* EAST VILLAGE DREAMS

Playing fancy Fashion Week parties in the city’s swankiest lounges might be a DJs dream, but for Misshapes Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol, all that glitters is not gold. “We’d prefer to play at Lit,” Lezark told Buzz from behind the DJ booth at the Boom Boom Room, referring to the dank East Village dive bar. “It’s where we learned our style.”

* FASHION FREEZE

Party people at the Jeremy Scott afterparty at Good Units had an unusual Fashion Week treat. In addition to the open Belvedere vodka bar, a Ben & Jerry’s cart slung Cheery Garcia and other flavors to the overheated revelers. Supervising the operation was none other than Ben & Jerry’s CEO Walt Freese (pronounced “freeze”). That’s right. The CEO of Ben & Jerry’s is named Walt Freese. Buzz can’t make this stuff up!

THURSDAY, FEB. 18

* JT’S MOM GIVES THUMBS UP

Swiping aside rumors of a split, Jessica Biel was smiling and playing the dutiful girlfriend at Justin Timberlake’s show last night. When Buzz asked her about JT’s knack for putting his own daily outfit together, Biel declared with sass, “My man don’t do nothing wrong!”

As for her own role in the new collection, she couldn’t say whether she provided any inspiration. Muse or not, JT’s parents love Biel, and chatted happily with her before the show. “She is so down to earth and real,” beamed Lynn Harless, JT’s mom, in with JT’s dad from Memphis.

Mom agreed that her son can do no wrong and is, in fact, a perfectionist. “When he was only 2,” she told Buzz, “he would spend 20 minutes rubbing the tiniest speck of dirt or smudge off his shoe.”

Asked if she thinks Biel is the one, Harless crossed her fingers and closed her eyes with hope.

* NO IRONING

John Malkovich may be launching a line of $3,500 overcoats, but don’t expect other veteran actors to follow suit. Michael Douglas told Buzz yesterday backstage at Michael Kors that he has limited interest in clothes. “Comfort is the key for me. It’s all I’m really looking for in the way of clothes.” He is especially attracted to the comfortable-looking “wrinkled material” in Kors’ show, although it’s hard to know if he was referring to the silk, cashmere or suede garments on display, since all of them were pretty crumpled.

* RUNWAY DAY CARE

Kids are a Fashion Week staple this season, with editors like Gloria Baume of Teen Vogue bringing a little girl to Erin Fetherston, Sasha Charnin Morrison of Us Weekly bringing her two boys to Herve Leger, and Harriet Mays Powell of New York mag bringing her kids to DvF and Leger. Reverend Run’s kid, who’s 15, showed up on his own at Y-3. But Narciso Rodriguez’s right-hand woman, Kathy Kalesti, took the kid fad to the next level by bringing Marcus, 14, and Annick, 11, to the designer’s after-party at the Boom Boom Room. Not that the offspring were all that impressed. As Marcus told Buzz, “It was more fun last year when I got to talk to Kanye West.”

* HEY, WHO’S THAT GRRRRL?

The difference between 31 and 17 is the difference between life and death in model years. No one seems to know this better than 31-year-old Angela Lindvall, who walked up to Karlie Kloss, 17, backstage at Michael Kors yesterday and demanded icily, “What’s your name?” Considering Kloss was Vogue’s most featured model last year, Buzz can only assume Lindvall already knew the answer to her own question.

* WILD KNIGHT

Rumors are swirling of a top-secret exclusive performance by none other than Sir Mick Jagger at the L’Wren Scott after-party tonight. Kenmare co-owner Nur Khan has indeed mentioned to Buzz that a special surprise is in store — and he’s been known to drink and dine with the knighted rock megastar.

* FASHION STREAK

Fashion Week became Fashion Streak outside the W Lounge, as guests watched two girls with walkie-talkies rush half-naked male model Matvey Lykov from Ecco Domani to Perry Ellis while guests including “90210” actress Jessica Stroup and NFL malcontent Terrell Owens waited for the show to begin. Although the half-dressed hunk seemed to be enjoying the experience, his face turned a shade of red not yet seen on the runway this season when Buzz inquired about the disrobed dash. It seems the in-demand Lykov had been booked for both shows and, because Domani started fashionably late, the Fusion agency hunk had just enough time to slide on his pants before Ellis organizers came to fetch him.

* LITERARY LUST

Michael Stipe was weighed down by knowledge at yesterday’s Jeremy Scott show. Instead of carrying the gift bags (which contained condoms) that we’ve seen toted around this week, Stipe showed up with two massive bags from The Strand bookshop.

* AFTER THE TONE

Ozzy Osbourne seems to be focusing his singing career on his daughter’s voice mail. “Every single day my dad leaves a message on my voice mail singing some stupid song or saying. ‘Please leave a message after the tone, please leave a message after the tone,’ ” the ubiquitous Kelly Osbourne joked with Buzz at the Jeremy Scott show yesterday. She added that Ozzy Googles photos of her at shows and tells her how lovely she looked.

* HOT IN HERE!

Speaking of Kelly Osbourne, she was doing the media thing backstage at Nanette Lepore yesterday when the crush of cameras became too much. “It’s getting hot in here!” Kelly cried, signaling “Fashion News Live” host Rocco Leo Gaglioti to swoop down, lift her into his arms and go running into the private Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge. The LA-based Gaglioto says he has given the same code words to other celebs, and once went running from a press conference with Jenna Jameson in his arms.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 17

* THESE VIPS ARE MIA

It was a night of early departures for marquee designers like Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen, who both left their own after-parties before they ended. Posen went MIA while his Rose Bar party was in full swing, perhaps to go visit Victoria Beckham’s bash on the hotel rooftop. Meanwhile, Jacobs headed to Avenue, where he partied with Shannen Doherty and Russell Simmons. He also danced with SI swimsuit model Julie Henderson, prompting a little jealousy from Lorenzo Martone, who went around all night introducing himself as “Marc’s husband.”

* LIV TYLER EXPOSED!

G-Star may be promoting their new model Liv Tyler as having “an impeccable feeling for style,” but when Buzz inquired at the G-Star show last night what makes some clothes cool and some not, Liv was dumbfounded. “I don’t know. Whatever you think looks good, I guess.” During the show, Liv spent most of it chatting to supermodel (and birthday girl) Agyness Deyn in the seat next to her. Later Deyn told Buzz that she hoped to get one of the many green outfits in the show to wear on a St Patrick’s Day trip to Ireland. Talk about March Madness!

* THIRD TIME’S A CHARM

Guns N’ Roses has already bowled over Fashion Week crowds with two surprise performances, and the show might not be over yet. “There’s a good chance you’ll be seeing him one more time before the week is over,” a source close to Axl Rose told Buzz.

* COW COUTURE

Fashion Week is billing itself as a carbon-neutral event this year, meaning IMG spent about $20,000 to offset the 950 tons of CO2 spewed by diesel generators, town cars and gift bag delivery at the tents. That money is being spent on another kind of tent — massive structures over “manure lagoons” at dairy farms in Idaho. These “bio-digesters” draw out the methane from the heifer poo and then burn it to make electricity. So as you hop around shows and unpack your gift bags, remember you have 13,700 cows in Idaho to thank for relieving your eco-guilt.

* I DON’T DO LUNCH

Betsey Johnson played dumb when we asked her to explain the serious celebrity drought at Fashion Week. Without irony she said, “I hear they pay these celebrities. I didn’t know that!” Johnson, who had Patricia Fields and Robert Verdi in her front row, declared she never pays for famous butts in the chair. “You do it because you want to do it. No strings attached. The strings are what I don’t like. That’s why I don’t do lunch.”

* SWAG SCORE

In another case of celebs getting all the cool stuff for free, Kellan Lutz and AnnaLynne McCord stopped by the invitation-only Nintendo DSi Studio at the Bryant Park Hotel yesterday and walked off loaded with a Nintendo, photo printer hair products and makeup. Hopefully the couple doesn’t forget to report the swag score on their taxes!

* AUDIO STYLE

When it comes to Fashion Week deejays, Mike Nouveau seems to be “in” for 2010. In addition to deejaying Friday’s 10-year anniversary party for Seven New York at the TriBeCa Grand, Nouveau broke in Paul Sevigny’s brand-new Kenmare lounge Saturday, provided the soundtrack for Marc Jacobs’ “secret” soiree at the Standard Hotel Monday and spun at Max Azria’s dinner party at Shang before heading up his weekly Tuesday gig at Avenue, which a source said was so busy that there was no need to book a Fashion Week event.

TUESDAY, FEB. 16

* SUPER BOWL STYLIST

Now that Saint Reggie Bush has added a Super Bowl ring to his own wardrobe, he gets to advise his girlfriend on her style choices. “I tried on a few pieces for my boyfriend to decide what I should wear to the show,” Kim Kardashian tells Buzz in anticipation of today’s Bebe-Kardashians show at Style360. “Normally he doesn’t say much about my clothes, but the feedback was incredible.” Kardashian, whose most distinguishing physical asset is well known, tells Buzz she started wearing Bebe because, “The jeans are the only ones that fit me.”

* CHANGING ROOM

Next time you see a half-naked blonde on the N train, take a closer look — it might be “90210” star AnnaLynne McCord. “I once changed outfits on a moving subway,” the starlet told Buzz outside the subterranean kitchen that was the celebrity changing room at Jill Stuart yesterday. Not to be outdone, “Brothers & Sisters” actress Roxy Olin told us she has changed behind gas stations and in a bush. And “Gossip Girl” Michelle Trachtenberg changed outfits in a moving NYC taxi. “But I’m not going to describe it for you,” she said. “I’m a lady.”

* PURPLE HEARTS

Zac Posen raised eyebrows by refusing to sit down and eat with anyone at Belvedere Vodka’s Purple magazine dinner. But actress Leelee Sobieski and her husband had no problem sitting at the Valentine’s Day fete or sharing their love a very public way — by groping each other all night. Revelers at the after-party at the Gramercy Park Hotel were also bemused by Jared Leto’s massive fur hat, but the actor/rocker left in a cab early in the night, only to mysteriously return 15 minutes later, hat and all.

* FARM FRESH RUNWAY

Southern designer Billy Reid was taken aback by the price tag for building a rustic-looking set for his country gentleman presentation Sunday. So instead of paying, he rented a truck in his hometown of Florence, Ala., enlisted friends and family to pile it high with fallen leaves and branches, and made the 20-hour drive to Manhattan.

* SEND-OFF

We hear Fashion Week organizers are planning a massive send-off bash to Bryant Park on Thursday night inside the tents. Nightclub veterans Jeffrey Jah, Richie Akiva, David Rabin and others are organizing.

* PARTY CRASHERS

Real Housewife Alex McCord and hubby Simon van Kempen really wanted in to Christian Siriano’s after-party at Lower East Side hot spot the Eldridge. The two, who pushed their way to the front of the line, spent 20 minutes explaining that no, they were not on the guest list, but yes, they were famous enough to be let in. Finally Siriano came out to greet Mena Suvari and nodded to the bouncer to let the party crashers inside.

* NOT A SHORE THING

Jersey Shore may finally make its Fashion Week debut this morning at the Bebe-Kardashians show at Style360. J-Woww has expressed interest in attending, and it all depends on if details can be hammered out before the 10 a.m. showtime.

* GAY TV

“TV has fabricated an identity for gay men,” opined reality star in the making Robert Verdi to Buzz after the Betsey Johnson show. “When people think of gay Americans, they don’t think of the most powerful news anchor on TV,” he continued. To distinguish himself from one gay stereotype concerning niceness and neatness, Verdi plans to show his viewers that he is impossible to deal with and totally disorganized, “the same qualities as Oprah and Letterman.”

MONDAY, FEB. 15

* JERSEY SNORE

Yo, wassup wit dat? Imagine inviting “Jersey Shore” star Pauly D to your fashion show, only for him to make other plans. Perry Ellis reps wouldn’t confirm the orange-hued, aspiring DJ was invited to tonight’s show, but an industry insider confirms to Buzz that he was. Alas, friends of D’s claim he’s spinning at a gig somewhere outside the US and won’t make it back in time.

* ELLE OF A MATCH

Vanessa Williams (a k a Wilhelmina Slater of “Ugly Betty”) met her real-life counterpart, Elle’s Editor-in-Chief Roberta Meyers at STYLE360 and joonbug.com’s farewell party to the show farewell party to the show, which was recently canceled. Buzz asked Williams who has the harder job, the real magazine editor or the actress playing her: “I’m just lucky that I had all the dialogue written for me. An actual editor has to take risks that set her magazine apart.” And what about the irony that this fictional magazine is now closed down, just as so many real-life magazines have recently shuttered? “It’s important to remember how great the ride was while it lasted.”

* BOOTY CALL

Calvin Klein’s front row yesterday looked more like the “Tonight Show” green room with Ryan Phillipe, Jared Leto, Chace Crawford and Kellan Lutz of “Twilight” seated next to each other. “Oh yeah, I demand, I call them up and say, ‘Listen I want this and this,’ ” Crawford joked when Buzz asked if he could get Calvin Klein to ship him free clothes at will. Like Crawford, Lutz says he’s caught Winter Olympics fever. “I was watching the luge and some skiing,” said Lutz. Perhaps unaware that a Georgian luger had died Friday, Lutz reasoned he wouldn’t attempt luging because, “I’d kill myself.”

* BRUSH-OFF

It was Valentine’s Day, but there wasn’t any love lost between two exes at the Diane von Furstenberg show. Top fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon was sitting front row when his ex-wife Kelly (the villain of “Real Housewives of New York City”) waltzed in with her handler. Gilles didn’t look up, so Kelly stopped at the end of his row greeting people as she worked her way down to him. When she finally reached his seat, Gilles stood up, quickly kissed her on both cheeks and sat down with a grimace on his face. Could it be he finds reality TV slightly unfashionable?

* MAN MAD

Alison Brie, who plays Trudy Campbell on “Mad Men” — the show about the ad biz in ’60s NYC — says there’s a real-life ad in downtown Manhattan that’s driving her crazy. “I’m so distracted because I keep seeing this billboard from Calvin Klein as I drive by on the way to my hotel. It’s with this guy and he’s super-oily,” Brie said at the Y-3 show. When asked if she actually likes the ad, Brie said, “I think so. I can’t stop looking at it every time I pass it. It’s a breath taker.”

* A ROLLING MOSS

Unlike her failed Broadway co-star Jeremy Piven, Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss is not much for wild nights on the town. The actress stopped by the alice + olivia party at Provocateur only long enough to pose for a few photos and tell Buzz that she is pleasantly surprised when she finds depth in the fashion industry, because people expect it to be so superficial. Apparently a live performance by Mickey Avalon and a DJ set by The Misshapes wasn’t deep enough, however, because her time inside the actual party was 3 minutes and 14 seconds. (Yes, Buzz carries a stopwatch.)

* GEEKY DESIGNER

Vivienne Tam was grilled at her in-store presentation about her collaboration with HP to design “digital clutches.” A woman who claimed she “got laid off from her job as a software engineer” and is now “a fashion editor,” called Tam a “geeky designer” and wanted to know if she is working on a fashion design video game. Tam calmly replied that no such video game is in the works. The designer then shared her secret for staying calm with Buzz: “I don’t smoke or use caffeine, and I only drink clear beverages.”

* WINTOUR MAGNETISM

Normally stoic models perched upon old snowmobiles and 1980s sports cars at the Band of Outsiders’ presentation couldn’t help but turn their heads – some even smiling and motioning to one another – as Anna Wintour quickly made the rounds with a mini-entourage in tow.

* LISTEN CLOSE

“I do actually mix my own music into my DJ sets,” Sean Lennon told Buzz at a Camper store party. “I don’t think anyone really notices, it’s just fun to do.” Spinning along with his girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, the pair keep songs by Sean’s parents in heavy rotation.

* BEAUTY’S BROTHER

American Beauty Mena Suvari knows something about winning Best Picture, and her prediction for next month: The Hurt Locker. “James Cameron is a genius, but this is a question of a great story vs. a revolution in filmmaking technology,” she told buzz in the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge. There’s one more reason for her Oscar pick: “My brother is in the Army and was just deployed to Afghanistan.”

SUNDAY, FEB. 14

Two billion bucks at the box office and a shot at Best Picture and still we haven’t seen any “Avatar”-influenced fashion — yet. “In a few months, I think we’ll be seeing lots of blue on the runway,” said Zoe Saldana, who plays the deep-blue Neytiri in the James Cameron blockbuster. “Already, I think designers are looking at adding more tribal jewelry and jungle green to their collections.” Saldana, who launched her own fashion site myfdb.com last night, even offered up advice for making the ultimate “Avatar” fashion statement: “Use recycled materials! That’s the message for fashion in this film.”

* FORD ON FIRE

The young beauties were smoking hot at the Ford Models party at Rose Bar. And when we say smoking — we mean literally on fire! English stunner Sadie Newman leaned a little too close to the tabletop candles, and her hairspray-infused brunette locks were set ablaze. The fire was doused by a quick-thinking boyfriend, but the smell of charred hair lingered long into the night. Newman, for her part, learned an important lesson, telling us, “Don’t drink and lean!”

* MARC’S SECRET IS OUT

Marc Jacobs is the king of spectacularly awesome after-parties (Lady Gaga played the last one), but this year he’s keeping it low key with a “secret” post-show party. We’re bad at keeping secrets, though, and learned that the A-list bash is planned for Monday night atop the Standard Hotel in the 18th Floor Lounge (otherwise known as the Boom Boom Room.) As if that glitzy lounge wasn’t hard enough to get into on a regular night! Thanks, Marc.

* SUPER FREAK

Backstage at Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief fundraiser, Estelle confided that her new song “Freak” will debut at Wednesday’s Jeremy Scott show. Rihanna was slated to make an appearance there, but won’t return from Australia in time. Good thing, because shady ex Chris Brown is also making the fashion rounds.

* CLUED IN

We’ve heard of haute couture, but haute corpse? The Buzz Award for most unique fashion show this season goes to Rachel Antonoff, who staged a murder mystery yesterday at Lafayette House in the East Village. Models dressed like detectives searched for clues around a “dead” model splayed on the carpet while viewers wandered through the hotel, taking in the crime scene — and oh yeah, the clothes, too.

* HORNY HUBBY

“Anything related to sex pleases me,” gushed Lorenzo Martone to Buzz before a steamy sideshow of half-naked men and women took to the stage at The Box for the Ruffian after party. That’s good news for Marc Jacobs, who symbolically married Martone last month in St. Barts.

* FAMILY BUSINESS

What’s the best way to get your family to support your art? “You’ve got to hire them to make sure they come to the show,” joked Charlotte Ronson with Buzz backstage. Indeed twin sister Samantha Ronson was on the DJ decks for the show while little sis Annabelle Roson walked the runway. Presumably mom Anne Dexter-Jones was not paid to pose for pictures. Lindsay Lohan, who has been noticeably absent this week, remained so.

SATURDAY, FEB. 13

UNDERAGE & UNAPPEALING

There was no shortage of eye candy at the La Perla lingerie show, but some of the VIPs were thrown by the young-looking gals onstage. “The average age up there looks to be 15,” said “Samantha Who?” star Jennifer Esposito. Her fiancé, Australian tennis ace Mark Philippoussis, was more disturbed. “Maybe for a boy in high school it would be OK to like those models. But for me it’s just awkward and uncomfortable.”

BIG TOP

“Project Runway” judge Nina Garcia is a fit woman with extremely large breasts, fellow judge Michael Kors was overheard telling friends in the backstage W Lounge yesterday. “All my neighbors at the beach thought Nina had a boob job,” said Kors, “but I said no, she is just a size 6 on top and a size 0 everywhere else!”

PRANCING WITH THE STAR

Fashion Week can mean spending hours waiting in line for a show, but not for Kelly Osbourne. “I feel like such a little princess,” she gushed to Buzz at Belvedere Vodka’s L.A.M.B. reception for Gwen Stefani. “I get to have designers fly me out, seat me in the front row and pay for cars to take me around to the shows and parties.” How does she keep up with a whole week of such demanding luxury? “You need to pace yourself — and take naps,” she says. “Otherwise you might end up on the model’s diet of Champagne and cocaine.”

KISSING KLUM BUM

The notoriously gruff Harvey Weinstein was spotted outside the W Lounge waiting to greet Heidi Klum. Inside the lounge, observers described the embattled filmmaker as “totally kissing her ass.”

CUT A RUG

Leave it to model-turned-downtown-designer Erin Wasson to host a fashion show in a carpet store — ABC Carpet, that is. Seated on piles of $8,000 rugs, Ke$ha, Jared Leto and hundreds of fans watched Wasson’s crowd-pleasing creations. “Am I the best designer? No,” Wasson admitted to Buzz after the show. “Do I have the best collection? No. Do people leave my shows happy? Yes.”

RED EYE

Before Axl Rose took the stage, albeit 3 hours late, at the John Varvatos party on Thursday, Buzz asked celeb photographer Mick Rock how high was Snoop Dogg during a recent photo shoot. But Rock retorted, “How high was I?” and said that the rapper is one of his favorite subjects to shoot. Rock also recalls Snoop Dogg claiming to be part Italian. Fo shizzleoni.

FRIDAY, FEB. 12

* Sure, Molly Simms looked great in her plastic dress at Wednesday’s Gen Art fashion show. But what does the five-time Sports Illustrated swimsuit hottie think of Brooklyn Decker, 2010’s SI cover girl? “I think she’s 22,” snapped Simms, who is 36.

* “Ugly Betty” actor Mark Indelicato, only 15, is already disgusted by snarky blog posts. “I get so tired of seeing people trash me,” he told Buzz at yesterday’s plaid Duckie Brown show. His solution? “I’d like to have a blog where I say nice things about people.” Good luck selling ads on that, Mark!

* Performances by Lady Gaga, Rufus Wainwright and even Meryl Streep had most guests at the star-studded amfAR benefit in a chatty mood. But James Gandolfini only wanted to talk trash. “Garbage garage,” he responded to questions about Fashion Week. Sorry, what? “Look it up, garbage garage.” The actor was referring to the planned sanitation complex in SoHo that a judge approved in spite of celeb objections from the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Jennifer Connelly and Lou Reed.

* Mayor Bloomberg may dress like a banker, but that doesn’t mean he can’t appreciate sartorial flair. “It’s always nice to wear something unique, something that people will remember you by,” Hizzoner told Buzz after announcing a new Modelinia Fashion Week show on the city’s NY25 TV channel. As for his own fashion flair, he says, “Well, I don’t think I’ll be remembered for my clothing.”

* We hear that Yigal Azrouël is planning an exclusive post-show lunch today with 13 of his closest friends at 10 Downing Food & Wine.
