Feds search for ‘Bad Granny’ bank robber in Texas

“Bad Santa” may be fiction, but the threat of “Bad Granny” is all-too real for some banks in Texas.

The FBI announced Monday it is searching for what agents are dubbing the “Bad Granny” burglar after a woman disguised in a salt-and-pepper wig robbed a Wells Fargo bank west of Houston last week. She is also suspected in a January heist of a Bank of America branch.

Like many in their older years, she got a bit cranky. Authorities said she tried to rob another bank 30 minutes before the Wells Fargo theft but left because the teller didn’t give her the cash fast enough.

It was not immediately clear how much money she took off with. Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for information that leads to her arrest.
