Jon and Kate reach custody deal for their eight

Reality star parents Jon and Kate Gosselin reached a custody deal after months of haggling, celebrity gossip website TMZ.com reported Tuesday.

The details of the super-secret deal were sealed by the Pennsylvania court, but sources say the settlement involved custodial and financial matters.

Jon Gosselin filed for primary custody of the couple’s twins and sextuplets in April, demanding at the same time a chance to renegotiate his $20,000 per month spousal and child support. Kate Gosselin — who was labeled an “absentee mom” by her estranged husband’s lawyer — was a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” at the time.

Shortly after the papers were filed, Jon Gosselin fired his attorney, saying he had acted without the TV dad’s consent. He issued a statement saying, “Kate, her attorney and I are moving forward to work things out amicably.”

Lawyers declined to comment on the “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” agreement, but a source close to the couple told TMZ the two “will be working together for the benefit of their children.”

The Gosselins’ divorce has been messy and well-covered by the media. While Kate Gosselin has landed a new reality show, “Twist of Kate,” Jon Gosselin has discussed designing a children’s clothing line and had a string of public, much-younger girlfriends.
