Wilson-Randle ‘feud’ on Twitter over fumbles, drops

Is the frustration over an 0-6 start starting to get to the Giants? Or are two young players merely using social media to air some good-natured ribbing?

Running back David Wilson got into a Twitter back-and-forth with wide receiver Rueben Randle on Tuesday night — and some of their shots — about on-field errors and injuries — may hit a little close to home for frustrated Giants fans.

It all started when Wilson, who is sidelined with a neck injury, posted a motivational tweet Tuesday evening saying, “Make sure y’all ride around and get it #allday.”

Randle appeared to take exception, re-tweeting with the response: “[Shut the] Hell up.”

Wilson fired back: “hey randle u suck ur on the bench of ma fantasy team.”

Randle then sent out a picture with the caption: “Man sit yo ass down!!”

Wilson responded, “get off twitter and get in your play book u bum.”

That’s when it got really good.

Randle’s next volley referenced Wilson’s well-chronicled fumbling habit: “u go get in urs! Oh wait…u might fumble it.”

Wilson didn’t take kindly to this: “drop another pass and I’m DROPPING U from my fantasy team #butterfingers.”

Randle: “fumble another ball ima put u at the end of my bench like coach Coughlin did.”

Wilson: “wait didn’t u fumble twice??? Stop pouting and get up and run ..your a waste of talent!!!”

Randle then accused Wilson of faking an injury: “ain’t nutn wrong with yo neck. B Jacobs just punk’d u out ur spot.”

Wilson went back to making fun of Randle’s drops: “and Eli has Rueben wide open…(Crowd sighs) awww he couldn’t hall it in — another drop from randle.”

Randle responded: “Wilson takes the kickoff. He has room on the sideline (crowd cheers). He cuts back…FUUMMBBLLLEEE!!”

That served as the final barb. The next post suggested the two second-year players had been clowning around.

Wilson tweeted: “On a serious note me, @RuebenRandle and THE GIANTS love the game and winning We make mistakes but know we always play hard for the Team/Fans.” Randle re-tweeted Wilson, so it looks as if the two are on the same page.
