Third person dies in SXSW car crash

AUSTIN, Texas — A third person has died after being hit by a suspected drunken driver last week during the South By Southwest festival.

Sandy Le, 26, died of her injuries, an Austin police spokeswoman said Monday without specifying when.

Le was in a crowd outside an Austin club early Thursday when the driver smashed his car through a barricade and accelerated into the festivalgoers.

Jamie West, 27, of Austin and Dutchman Steven Craenmehr, 35, were killed. More than 20 were injured.

Rashad Owens, 21, who was allegedly fleeing cops, is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
